This team was founded on november 14, 1913 under the name «Medellín Football Club» and in 1953, the name of the team was changed to «Deportivo Independiente Medellín».

Deportivo Independiente Medellín is one of the most representative teams in the country and the first to be founded in Colombia (1913). He has won the Colombian league 6 times and the Colombia Cup 3 times, it is characterized by having the most loyal and passionate fans.
